Daria is hospitalized after coming down with a persistent rash, causing a number of rumors regarding her health to circulate the school. Daria's resistance to talk about her situation only fuels the rumors about her status, leading many students to visit her under the assumption that she may not survive.

Week Twenty

The theme of the week is finding one's role and either living up to it or shunning it entirely in order to follow one's own desires. For some this is a practice in finding themselves, while others devote themselves entirely to pleasing those who would push their expectations onto them.

Gifted

Daria and Jodie spend the weekend with their families at a school for the gifted, learning along the way that not all the students at said school are worth knowing. Quinn, meanwhile, spends the weekend hopping between the houses of her Fashion Club friends, unable to find a combination that works for her.

Week Nineteen

The theme of the week is the end of relationships, in one form or another, whether those relationships are romantic, friendly, or simply of having known one another. The results vary, with some friendships broken, others culminating in a kiss, and a few that end in caskets.

The New Kid

Daria bonds with Ted, a previously home schooled student, when she's forced into contributing to the yearbook. Their relationship is later complicated, however, when Daria inadvertently rejects him, and the nature of their friendship is called into question.

Week Eighteen

The theme of the week are the lies that we tell ourselves, the lies that we tell to others, and the lies that we are lead to believe. Whether the lies told are about who you really are, or what's really happening around you, ultimately we all know the truth about ourselves.

Monster

Daria and Jane are made to make a documentary about Quinn for a school assignment, assuming that her shallowness will provide an interesting look into an empty psyche, only to learn that there's much more behind her well-groomed facade.

Week Seventeen

The theme of the week is becoming something that's expected of you, or to abandon those expectations in favor of your own desires. For some this could mean anything as simple as a costume change, while for others it could be the catalyst to an entirely different way of life.

A couple of Jake and Helen's old friends come to town, leading the Morgendorffer's to examine precisely how they've changed in their time since college and whether or not they've progressed as they would have liked to.

Week Sixteen

The theme of the week is trying to be something that you're not, either to impress someone of a different social status, or to hide in plain sight.

Helen's familial issues are on full display when Daria and Quinn are made bridesmaids at their cousin's wedding, providing Daria with the perfect opportunity to bond with Helen's sister Amy, the black sheep of the family.

Week Fifteen

The theme of the week is the end of relationships, whether romantic in nature or platonic, and the struggle one has in dealing with said situation. Some are left weeping over all the lost moments they never got to have, while others manage to mend their ties and renew their bonds stronger than ever before.

Quinn the Brain

After getting a high grade on her essay, Quinn adopts a more intelligent persona in order to get money out of her parents, but Daria quickly becomes threatened when everyone in school starts treating Quinn as one of the smart kids.

Week Fourteen

The theme of the week is the search for forgiveness as people make mistakes and do their best to repent for them. Some are for past transgressions, some for imagined blunders, and others for mistaken identity, but in every case the characters look to be absolved of their crimes.

The Daria Hunter

The Lawndale student body is gathered together during a school-wide paintball game in an effort to study the impact of warfare on all aspects of culture. Quinn finds herself in trouble with Sandi when she knocks her out of the game, and, potentially, out of her presidency of the Fashion Club.

Week Thirteen

The theme of the week is taking a secondary option when the first choice doesn't quite pan out, either out of necessity to the situation, or simply a desire to move on to something else. Whether it's a relationship that's better off forgotten, or a campaign that needs to be spoken for, our characters here learn valuable lessons about what it means to settle for something less.

Arts 'N Crass

Forced to enter into a school-funded art contest, Jane and Daria create a poster depicting student life at the dawn of the millennium with a commentary on the lengths to which young girls will go in order to maintain a semblance of beauty. The poster sparks debate, leading Jane and Daria to protest the injustice in an effort to bring attention to the plight of the American teenager.

Week Twelve

The theme of the week is about dealing with death, whether literally experiencing the loss of a loved one, or symbolically losing a piece of one's self. This week high school heroes fall, reputations are tarnished, relationships are destroyed, and the nature of identity is put into question as our protagonists try to make sense of the world around them.

Daria Overview: Season 01

Moving to a new town allows people the opportunity to change who they are, to become someone brand new without previous misconceptions getting in the way. For Quinn this means a chance to cultivate a persona for herself that will welcome popular friends, while Daria maintains that her identity is all she has, and to change that now would be disrespectful to what she believes. Daria is a girl that knows who she is through and through, and anyone that would have her question that is not someone that's worth spending time on.

The Misery Chick

Daria confronts a Lawndale alum who belittles her peers on his visit to the school, making an enemy of him moments before he's tragically killed. The bulk of the student body is confused about their feelings, questioning whether they should mourn someone so outwardly horrible to them, and come to Daria for advice on dealing with depression.
