By Any Other Name

Lundy Watches...
As written by William Shakespeare, a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, so really, what's in a name? Sometimes the creators of a television series opt not to give their episodes unique names, instead letting them be known simply by their episode number. Unfortunately, for this blog...that could get somewhat confusing.

When a series chooses to identify its stories through titles such as "Episode 1" and "Episode 2," it can grow somewhat confusing, leaving no clue as to what each story happened to be about when trying to find a specific story line. Worse still, when looking through this blog, what you would find would be more than one series having the exact same titles, leading to confusion about which review belonged to which series, and that simply wouldn't make sense form a blogger's stand point, making the search function far more difficult than it really needs to be.

What I've chosen to do, with those episodes without titles, is to give them names in the reviews, more for the benefit of the blog than for the benefit of the series. The titles I choose tend to come from whatever happened in the story, and won't be so unrelated to the narrative that it's difficult to understand why I would name them in this way.

Whether it's a line spoken by a character, or the overriding theme of the story, or simply the title of a song that plays heavily throughout the episode. Certainly, I'm not expecting these titles to catch on throughout the fandoms, but hopefully they aren't so distracting that readers find them hard to accept.
